Adewale Led Oyo/Osun Customs Continues its Collaboration Parleys, Visit to Ilesha International Brewery

The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Command has continued to entrenched robust partnership and collaboration with critical stakeholders within its jurisdiction for an enhanced and effective operational efficiency.
Recently, the command in a statement contained recent press release signed by the PRO, ASC1 Abdulmalik Akintola, said that, as part of her sustained efforts to strengthen collaboration with excise factories and key stakeholders, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Wale Moses Adewole, On Tuesday 14 April 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the International Breweries Plc plant in Ilesa, Osun State.

DC Wale Adewole during the visit emphasized the importance of compliance with extant excise laws and regulations, noting that adherence is critical to revenue generation and the national economic stability. He as well reiterated the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring strict enforcement of government fiscal policies.
Also, the CAC commended International Breweries Plc for its contributions to the economy, particularly in the areas of employment generation and enhancing the revenue generation profile of the Command. He further encouraged the management to sustain its level of compliance and maintain transparency in its operations.

However, in his response, the manager of International Breweries Plc, Mr Emmanuel Onabanjo expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and impactful. He reaffirmed the factory’s commitment to maintaining a cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service and pledged continued compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue, address operational challenges, and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

According to the statement, the Oyo/Osun Area Command remains dedicated to stakeholder engagement, trade facilitation, and the enforcement of fiscal policies in line with the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
