Oyo/Osun Customs Extends Robust Inter-Agency Collaborations with NA 2nd Div, EFCC

With Commitment to further strengthened inter-agency collaboration for enhanced national security and effective service delivery, the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service under the watchful eyes of DC Moses Adewole, the present Ag Customs Area Controller (CAC), has engaged with the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate.

In a press statement signed by ASC I Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, it was explained that on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, the Garrison Commander of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Brigadier General Abubakar Saddiq Bugaje, paid a courtesy visit to the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, as he expressed his profound appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation.

While stating his mission, the Garrison Commander noted that the Nigerian Army is saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property within Oyo State, as he emphasized the need for sustained cooperation among security agencies, as no agency can operate in isolation.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army to continued collaboration and support for the Command in addressing security challenges within the State.

In his response, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Moses Adewole, acknowledged the vital role of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding the nation against external aggression and maintaining internal security.

He assured the Garrison Commander that the Command deeply values the existing relationship and remains committed to strengthening the collaboration for enhanced operational efficiency.

In a related development, the Customs Area Controller, accompanied by members of the Command’s Management Team, on Thursday, 26 February 2026, paid a familiarization visit to the EFCC Zonal Office in Ibadan.

In the remarks of the CAC, DC  Moses Adewole commended the Commission for its unwavering efforts in combating corruption and financial crimes in the country. He further sought to sustain the collaboration with the Commission in the areas of joint operations, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.

Responding, the EFCC Zonal Director, Mrs. Hauwa Garba Ringim, while appreciating the visit of the Ag Customs Area Controller and his delegation, noted that a cordial and symbiotic relationship existed between the EFCC and the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service. She further assured the Area Controller of the Commission’s continued support and collaboration, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and enforcement activities.

Meanwhile, these engagements according to the press statement, underscore the unwavering commitment of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to fostering strategic partnerships with sister agencies in order to enhance national security, promote transparency, and ensure effective service delivery in the interest of national development.
